A must for anyone looking for a mushroom that can be grown relatively easily and used as the centrepiece of in diverse, high cuisine Mediterranean dishes. Known as the Pioppino in Italian culture where it is considered a delicacy and is prominent feature in a variety of risottos; creamy spaghetti and tagliatelle dishes, often being paired with walnuts; and the classic quot;pasta con funghiquot;. The flavour of the mushroom is nutty itself, inviting a sweet and earth palate owing to its farinaceous undertones for which one might compare it to the unique flavour of pine nuts. Cultivation of this mushroom is around the beginner-to-intermediate. It can happily be cultivated on outdoor logs or inside following a similar technique to oyster mushrooms of supplemented hardwood sawdust. It requires temperatures at the lower end around 10-16°C (50-60°F)., with approximated on cycle of fresh air exchange per hour (considerably less than oysters or lion#39;s mane) and high relative humidity between 85-95%.--------------------------------------------------------Our light malt extract (LME) or potato dextrose (PDA) cultures are inoculated with mycelium under laminar flow, before being passed through quality control, sealed and shipped direct to you. The agar blend is mixed with blue or red colouring so you can immediately see the culture is free from contamination (and of course because it looks very cool).Every culture is ‘young’ (second or third generation, at most); never more than 3 months old; and has been selected for desirable genetic traits, namely: growth rate, thickness and resistance to contamination. We cater to novice and experienced growers alike by offering one-to-one support on every aspect of the growing process, ensuring the greatest chance of success. While most of our varieties can be grown on either sterilised hardwood sawdust supplemented with bran or pasteurised cereal straw, different mushrooms do have different needs, especially at the fruiting stage. Be sure to ask us what the growth parameters are for your selection.Cultures can either be expanded into further cultures or introduced to saturated and sterilized whole grain (such as rye, millet or wheat) under sterile conditions to begin the second stage of the fruiting process. When colonisation is complete, you must then introduce the myceliated grain to your chosen substrate. If you do not have the necessary equipment for culturing, you can alternatively purchase grain spawn from our store that can be transferred directly to substrate for fruiting. This way you can enjoy the beauty of the colonisation and fruiting process without the wait. Jars and bags will be fully colonized approximately 10 days after shipping. Please don#39;t hesitate to contact us for more information. we exist to enable economic opportunity for individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations of all sizes. Two Halves of Sage | Handmade Screen Print 11”x14” | Home Decor Very impressed - had some initial problems with the first agar plates but seller responded very quickly and sent more agar plates and even a free culture which I did not expect - thank you!So, starting with big kudos for Finnegan, he was very eager to help me chose the species to buy. We were talking about outdoor cultivation and he advised me species that would thrive well in my place.
I made an order Thursday evening, Saturday it was shipped and Tuesday I received it. Nice big, clean petri plates. And for quality - they are very clean and very alive. I took these pictures exactly week after inoculating the grain jars - they speak for themselves. The package smelled rancid when I open it and the mycelium was not alive.
Update: the vendor provide to send me a new package with an alive agar culture + another free one, super happy and I recommend this shop.super seller !! fast ship !! 5 star Selling rankings Craft Supplies Tools\ => Floral Garden Supplies\ => Greenery Gardening\ => Plants\ => Fruits Vegetables Black Poplar (Agrocybe aererita) Mushroom Culture on Agar Milwaukee Mall Two Halves of Sage | Handmade Screen Print 11”x14” | Home Decor Professional Online Store
